As an educator, I am responsible for molding productive citizens. Citizens who are problem-solvers, learners, and socially aware. Children learn in a variety of ways, and it is my job to observe and implement kinesthetic, visual, auditory, and sensory modalities into my lesson planning. I value education and want to develop the desire to be a lifelong learner in all of the children in my classroom; I also send related information home for parents to encourage practical learning opportunities. My role as teacher is to design guided, learning opportunities around the Texas Education Agency’s standards and guidelines, differentiating for the skills, talents and prior knowledge students may possess. I am truly encouraged and motivated when students express knowledge to each other or during their pretend play at home or school.
